Does meditation improve my mood?
Rate your mood each evening, and Insights compares your days with and without a session.
You don't have to take a study's word for it. Rate your mood each evening, keep meditating as usual, and Solvance shows how your mood reads on days you meditated next to days you didn't.
What the research says about meditation and mood, and its limits.
Set it up (two minutes)
- Open Settings → Tags & sliders and find Sliders. New accounts start with Mood, Sleep and Stress there already.
- If Mood isn't there, tap + Mood under the list (or type it and press Add). On the Free plan (3 sliders), pause one you use less first: its history is kept, and you can swap it back later.
- Check its sign is + (higher is better), so Insights knows which way counts as a better day.
- Each evening, open the Daily Log and move the Mood slider for the whole day. Log rest days too.
Where the answer shows up
- Insights → Meditation & your day → Your Daily Log sliders over time
- Your average Mood on days you meditated vs days you didn't, plus a monthly line.
- The day after a session vs the day after a rest day
- Whether a session lifts the next day or two, not just the same evening.
- How your days go, with and without a session
- The share of good and hard days, using your sliders and Day tags.
How long it takes
The comparison starts once you have a few logged evenings on each side. With under 5 rest days it's an Early sign; with about two weeks of each it's Taking shape; a Clear pattern needs 12 or more days on each side and a difference unlikely to be chance, even counting how many comparisons Insights makes.
Insights shows what goes together in your own days, not proof that one causes the other. A busy week can lower both your practice and your mood. Treat a pattern as a good question to keep watching, and see how sure Insights is.
